It's raining.. it's pouring...

The old man is snoring... Well i think that is how that goes. I think someone sure did sing that song this morning, because boy!! did it rain. Last night i fell asleep at 9:30 (blissful!) and woke up late this morning.. I hadn't slept in a LONG time. After I got off work yesterday morning I had a full day with adriana. We started by going to panera for breakfast. I had their bacon egg and cheese on ciabatta brea. YUMMm. I definitely recommend it. After that, we headed over to the flea market. We had so much fun looking at everything and saying what we would do if we bought it ha. OUr feet were both tired after this, so we decided to go get manis and pedis. THIS was a great decision. The girl that I had was absolutely wonderful. She could rub feet like no other. And, when it came to do the little hand massage, she reaches up and grabs my shoulders where i yelped out "YOU are now my best friend hahah". It was great.. Was nice to be pampered on. Next we went to Lunch at pei wei and coffee afterward because i was fading fast!!!! We did a little shopping at TJ max and then called it a day...

Needless to say i was exhausted, so falling asleep at 9:30 last night was totally expected and welcomed. Well we woke up today and were going to Mason's baseball game, my nephew.. We were rushing because we left a little late. Because someone *cough cough* woke up a little late :) .... We headed over there and it was raining a little bit. Leslie texted me and said that they were waiting it out and probably gonna start about fifteen minutes late. So regardless of the rain, we headed over there... When we got over there they were already playing. It was sprinkling a little big but not bad.... Wellll.. little did we know, the floodgates were about to open.... ANd you could cue the song now.> IT POURED.... They were letting everyone hit at least once... By the time we got all packed up and walked back to the car, I was soaked.. I had to take my shirt off and wring it out in order to wear it for the rest of the afternoon... So we were heading home and decided to stop by providence.

Graham and I ended up going to see the Hunger games. WOnderful!!!! I think we both enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next movies to come out now!!!! We ended the night with a little shopping.> Enjoyed it thoroughly.

So to the story i started this post for. My mom texted me a story during the movie.. When i called her after to talk to her about it.... She could barely talk she was laughing so hard.... So they went down to savannah georgia for the weekend. Mom said that she dropped dad off at some place for him to go in and ask directions to some restaurant... Well dad went in and asked for directions. When he came back, he got back in the car and was telling "mom how to get to the restaurant when little did he know mom was really circling the parking lot. HE had gotten in the wrong car with some man!!! HILARIOUS... So he grabbed his pride and got in the RIGHT car. Mom said that she looked in the mirror back at the guy and he was laughing so hard.. I think we all got a good laugh with it....

So i hope that story gives you a little laugh. ENJOY

LIVE WELL * LAUGH MUCH* LOVE OFTEN

March madness

Graham and I have enjoyed filling out our brackets this year. We joined a group on Espn.com It has been pretty fun. We haven't done it together before and this year it has been really fun!!! We are a little bit competitive, but all is fair in love and game right?? I'm not doing so hot with the Missouri and the duke loss, but who really is anyways?? Hopefuly we'll both end up doing fairly well. I guess we will see in a few days. It is sooo surprising how many upsets there have been this year!!!!

The only thing i think of when march madness rolls around is the beach. I always used to fill out brackets and update them at n ight while at the beach. This year we are going to go int he summer like last year. It was so much warmer, and the water was so much better. So hopefully we will catch some great weather. I CANNOT wait. I love going down to cape san blas. This will be my 11 or 12th year to go. WOW! Can't believe it has been that long. IT is the best beach ever!!!! I love riding bikes while we are down there. Last year graham and i made the journey to the trading post on the bikes which is quite a ways, and by the time we got back we were exhausted!! But what great memories! Loved being able to bring my bike and ride around when i wanted to.. Hopefully we will be able to bring them again this year. We kind of had to rig the bike rack last year though because we lost some parts in the flood ha. O well we probably looked like national lampoon's vacation!!!!
Regardless, I am super uber siked about going this year. Can't wait to get a tan and spend some time AWAY from nashville and away from work. Maybe, we can stop by and see graham''s family on the way down!!!!

Over and out!!!

Spring is here...

Spring is here. Hopefully to stay. We shall see. I am in love with this weather. If you know me, you know that I love nothing in the world better than warm weather. I am a certified sissy when it comes to cold weather. I hate it so much. I love the spring time and even the summer time when it is HOT!!!! I mostly am excited about pool time this summer. can't wait to get some color in my cheeks again. I look awful without a tan. The other day at the flea market, a man asked for my driver's license. He said "phew you look a lot tanner". I said "yeah I look sickly without a tan". Well he took it as i have been sickly lately, because he patted me on the back and said "well, honey, i hope things start to get better for you". Ha i knew i looked bad, but that bad??? Ouch!! maybe it was the glasses and getting up early on a saturday morning to shop. Regardless, that made me even more anxious to get this beautiful weather we're having here.
I am so excited. Next tuesday, Me, my mom, my sister, and my nephew are all going to see mary poppins at TPAC. I have waited years to see this and am sooooo excited!! LOVE mary poppins and love seeing broadway shows at tpac! It will be fun to see my sweet nephew watch the show.

Well, I mentioned in my last post we were starting on our sun room. Well we finished it this weekend! It looks marvelous. I will try to put some before and after pictures on here later!! i will also try and put some pictures from our honeymoon on here!!!! Anyways, back to the sunroom. It looks wonderful! We have to finish a few last minute things, but that is about it!! We painted the walls a light gray, and the floors a dark charcoal gray color. Graham's alabama pictures will be our accent colors with red and black. I am hoping to be able to sew some cushions for the wicker furniture that is hounds tooth. We shall see. We are waiting a couple more days to put the furniture in the room to make sure that the floors are totally dry.
Another exciting piece of news for me at least is that i painted my craft table!!! (drafting table). I am already bursting at the seams thinking of all the crafts/projects i want to do in the future. Not to mention i have about six or seven rooms that needs curtains sewn for them!!! Hopefully it will get done sooner rather than later!!!!
Graham and i had softball practice no sunday afternoon. it was a beautiful day. So warm outside and was a perfect day to hit around and play. We all took a few grounders and each hit a bucket of balls. somehow, I got stuck pitchign to almost every single person on the team. I pitched a whole bucket of balls to each person. That was probably a good 25-30 per person and then multiply that by 9 people! Let's just say on monday morning, my arms and legs felt like they may fall off at any point in time. I was miserable!!!! But the soreness is starting to work itself out of my body. Thank goodness!!!
Graham and i have really been working on starting a workout regimen and hopefuly starting to eat better. i will keep you posted on how that is going. So far we are struggling. But we WILL get there.. Promise.

I think i have rambled enough. I need to stop typing before my eyes start crossing!!! thanks to all who actually read this and hope you have a blessed day!!!

New year new life.

What a great year it has been already. I Well my great year started right at the end of july and beginning of august. Married my main squeeze and have enjoyed being married.

I started my new job at Vanderbilt NICU. It has been quite the journey. I have already had so many great learning experiences. I have seen more things than I ever thought possible as a nurse. On another note, i am now terrified to have children. Ha. Seeing all of the things that could possibly go wrong in a pregnancy is not good for a woman of child bearing age to be around constantly!! Its scary!!! Altogether, I love being able to be a part of a family's lives during difficult times. It is very rewarding to be able to guide parents through these times. I have already seen myself grow as a nurse and as a person which is what I wanted in a career.

Onto the fun stuff.. married life... Graham and I are enjoying our time together. Bless his heart, because this sleep deprived nurse can be crabby sometimes. But at the end of the day he still loves me. Imagine that!! And.... after already seven months of marriage, we are still going strong and like being around each other. Well... i speak for us both. I hope he still wants to be around me!!! We are enjoying having our sweet little dog. That dog is more spoiled than any dog I know. she gets yummy homemade treats from her grandparents, and a new bone every time she chews another one up!! I'd say she is living the life!!! Loving life!!! She loves the random days when she can go to the grandparents house and have a little vacation from home. She is so ready to run out that door, she kind of hurts her momma's feelings. She has no separation anxiety whatsoever.

Now, to the house. We have made great progress. Our room is done. The living room is done. We painted the walls a nice gray color and the ceiling a bluish greenish color. It is beautiful and already looks so much better without the little lights around the ceiling!!! We just need a new living room suite now. (that is when we get the money!) Our old couch and chairs from granny's house will have to do for now. Our front bedroom is also done. We painted it the color of the ceiling in the living room. It turned out so nice. We actually had to drywall the ceiling in there because it was the board that was all over the walls in our bedroom. instead of sanding the ceiling and painting it, we decided on just putting up dry wall to give it a clean look. With the furniture in there that i got at the auction. It has turned out really cute also. We just need to get some pictures on the wall and some decor and we'll be set.

Married life

Married life is wonderful. Personally, I had no idea what to expect or how to react... Strange when for 25 years you have your own bed to sleep in and then BAM... one day you turn around and there is some strange person lying next to you!!!! Just kidding.. But we have had so much fun this past month and a half getting to know each other on a different level than before. The wedding went by so fast, and we seriously thank everyone who took part in it.. It was such a wonderful experience for us. I am so sad that it is such a blur!!! Great honeymoon followed by a great couple of months.
Our biggest trial in this marriage has four legs and starts with a "B" and ends in "ama"... Ha.. For those of you who do not know, we have a dog named Bama. She is an australian shepard. Very sweet, but recently when I started my new job (which has required me to work during the day two weeks in a row,) she has developed a chewing problem. We have had everything eaten or chewed from dryer sheet, to whole pair of underwear, to shoe strings, to oakley ski goggles. HA.. So it has been a funny yet interesting drive trying to get used to each other, and then trying to train and discipline this four legged being... She's a doll though and we absolutely love her..

Well I am tired.. and yes.. its only 11. but i'm an old married woman now. I think that when you get married your bed time moves up.. (or so the hubs thinks ) Because since august, I dont think there has been a whole lot of times that I have been to bed after 11!!! My normal bed time pre-marriage was 12!!!!! Anyways.. I have to abide by the wifey rule and go to bed!!! (although he's stuck in his recliner right now watching oregon play!!!)

night night

Wedding Bells

So... you really don't think about how fast time really flies until you have a deadline. Well, I hate to call a wedding a deadline.. but hey we don't have to be politically correct here. When I started this journey of planning a wedding (*disclaimer: of which i know nothing about), I remember having a countdown of how long it was until the wedding. Forever it felt like that number stayed above 200. Now a big ole 47 in hitting me smack in the middle of my face. 47 days and I'm a married woman. Scary thought huh mom? Its coming so fast and I cannot wait for that day to come. The days seem now like they are speeding by. Of course they are.. I have millions of things to do!! Why wouldn't they?? Anyways, I couldn't be more excited about getting married to my best friend. I do want this blog to serve as a way I can tell our story together as we start this journey here pretty soon!!!! Stay tuned for more stories of our lives as we begin a new chapter in our lives... (cheesy i know :) )

We're going to the chapel.....

And we're gonna get marrrrrried... HA!!! so exciting. For those of you who read or dont read the blog!! Graham and I got engaged about a week and a half ago!! SOO excited!! SO i'm guess you're dying to hear how it happened or to see what the ring looks like. Well, most of you are on facebook and have seen it already.. but no worries. Pictures are present!!!

Well, I will start off by saying, Graham mentioned on a monday night that the church college group was going to have a game night. Normally I would be excited, but in this instant I was not. I had to work wed, thursday night. I got off work on friday morning, and went home to sleep for a little bit. I only got a couple of hours sleep. Off i went to do the daily grind. Get stuff for the house. Run around and do errands. Well, I went to my house and was working on stuff with my parents. They took off that afternoon to help out. We were working in the house and got caught up. Game night was at 7, but everyone was responsible for their own dinner. SOoo I like any other young person jumped at the offer for my parents to buy me some dinner. WE couldn't decide where in smyrna to go that wouldn't take very long. Well. We decided Good ole Red Robin would do for us. We headed over there, mind you it is now six o clock. I figured I could eat in thirty minutes then get to the thing a few minutes late. We ate dinner and had the usual conversation with the usual "Lindsey why dont you look reeeeally cute tonight.. Wear your black boots. I think that'd be cute!!". Of course I pushed away and laughed at the fact of wearing black boots to game night...

Little did I know, I would regret that decision. Food took forever. I ended up leaving at 630 and got home around 640... Wow crunch time. Still wasn't in the mood to go to the game night. Tired as all get out and i was disgusting. But oooo how that HOT shower felt wonderful. I stayed in the shower for probably a good ten-fifteen minutes. FOr anyone who knows me.. my showers are five minutes max on a slow day. SO yes I took my time in the shower.. and YES i enjoyed every minute of it. ANyways, by the time i got out of the shower, my clock screamed to me that it was 7:07. oops :) I rushed and grabbed clothes out of my closet. and threw a tiny bit of makeup on. I did straighten my hair. Left the house at 7:21 and was at Mallory's house at about 7:30. Not bad.

We played lots of games. It turned out to be a good night other than the fact that if we paused for any moment in time my head did a little head nodding action (ahem.. lauren west LOL).. I was about to fall asleep when good ole josh says "hey guys lets do a scavenger hunt.. i already have it set up." So we decided guys against girls would be best.. Mallory, Nikki, and I started to head out the door.. Of course competitive me (thinking this was a real scavenger hunt) tried to close the door on the boys and hold them back. ha. Well our first clue was something about the light shining on the place HE calls home or something to that extent. We immediately knew that the church was the first clue. We went to church and found the clue behind a light pole. I thought it was strange that the guys hadn't made it yet and we already had the second clue just about figured out, but nikki slyly made the comment "he probably started us out on different clues so we wouldn't run into each other". Ha good one girl. Fooled me. Our next clue was something like I shine light upon the athens of the south. PARTHENON! We were immediately in the car and on our way to Centennial park to get this next clue. We get there and are searching. meanwhile i'm thinking really josh???? the parthenon?? how big is it and how little is a white envelope.. WEll i didn't know this at the time, but Mallory knew where all of the clues were hidden. I think its kind of funny that she let me go around the whole stinking thing before saying "OOOO we found it lets goo.." . Yea no kidding you knew where it was and i raced all the way around the whole thing. Thanks!!!! Just kidding

Our next clue led us to the walking bridge. Just to fill you in on a little funny ironic tidbit, on the way over to the walking bridge, Nikki, Mal and I got into the topic of getting engaged. I know they were laughing inside when i mentioned the fact that graham and I had already talked about getting married and had narrowed it down to may/june. I kept on about how its making me nervous that i can't get started planning because we hadn't gotten engaged yet and that was only like 7 months to plan. Later on i was told they were about to die laughing. oops.

.... We get to the walking bridge, and are walking up the bridge. We all notice that the guys had already made it. Josh camera in hand. Funny me still had no idea what was going on and even made the comment of "o look guys.. josh brought his camera.. probably did this scavenger hunt so he could take pictures down here.. and here i look disgusting".. Still nothing from the peanut gallery. As we reached the top, we were a little out of breath (kind of embarrassing to admit but hey we are real people right?).. We all kind of chit chat for a few minutes. then walk over to the edge of the bridge and i start to walk away and here comes the man of the night and leans over the bridge with me. Meanwhile onlookers (mallory, nikki, falcon, and adam) scatter. Josh starts snapping pictures (which i did not notice).. Graham tells me some really sweet things. He's always so sweet that I didn't really think anything of it. and YES everyone I didnt realize what was going on until he turned, got down on one knee and said "WILL YOU MARRY ME???"..I was shocked. My eyes started tearing up and all i could do was put my hands over my mouth in shock and whimper out a "yes". He got up and slid the ring on my finger and gave me a huge hug. WOW.. it was so amazing and perfect!!!!! Josh got some really good pictures so now we'll be able to share this moment forever and remember by awesome photos.

After i stopped shaking from being in such shock, I decided i would call my mom. one problem. NO PHONE!! i had left it at mallory's house. WEll.. i tried and tried for like thirty seconds but couldn't recollect my mother's phone number. The one i have probably dialed about a thousand times before. FINALLY i remembered it and got it dialed after three times of messing up dialing it ha. Told her. Which she knew and she told me my sweet fiance had asked for their permission wed night before while i was at work. She said she saw his car pull up in the drive and was like huh?? Larry, does he know that she is at work tonight?? Well they said yes.. then i called my dad on the road.. and i had to call many others and tell them. I was so excited. We went and saw his parents.. my sweet future in-laws and talked about how excited we were and everything and how perfect the ring was!! I mean perfect.. Never seen such a fitting ring for my personality and finger.. Loved it and he picked it out himself.

Graham actually told me that he bought the ring on OCt 22 or 23.. can't remember right now. HE went with Gant, his cousin. Gant proposed to niki, his girlfriend a week or two later. They came up for the weekend a week or two ago and i was able to look at the pictures from her engagment and through bridal magazines. Everyone thought that she had spilled the beans.. but no still no idea. Graham usually cannot keep a secret from me. He is not able to do that for some strange reason haha. Well he said he had been planning on proposing every weekend since he had gotten the ring but hadn't been able to .. Needless to say i am so very excited..
We have set the date for July 30 and will keep everybody posted
on details. Let's get planning!!! I will say I cannot wait to add Graham to my family and to be added to his. His family are all such sweet and special people. I can't wait. Agghh i'm getting married. This is so strange. But I promise this is almost over.. I will quit babbling. But... if anyone has any ideas... please let me know
